WELDING INFORMATION
OPEN LAB:
The welding and brazing labs are open to all active UA Local 393 members on Monday through Thursday from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. to practice and prepare for a UA weld certification or proof of continuity. Space is limited.
Note: Your UA Card will need to be presented to the instructor prior to using the labs. The welding and brazing labs are closed on Fridays.
TESTING & CONTINUITY:
The Training Center holds UA welding tests and proof of continuity on scheduled Fridays/Saturdays. If you need to take a welding test for a UA certification or prove continuity, you must make the arrangement in advance. Welders and brazers are responsible for performing manual continuity or submitting verification of welder and/or brazer continuity by their employer for welding and brazing performed on the job. Written verification of welder and/or brazer continuity by the employer must be submitted using approved United Association continuity forms below.

If you are working and have used your welder or brazer certification on the job prior to the date your certification expired, the date you last welded or brazed on the job must be used to submit verification of continuity by the employer. Welder and/or brazer continuity forms may be accepted after the date of expiration of certification if the form has been filled out correctly by the company representative responsible for being aware that the welder/brazer performed the welding/brazing process is verified. Once a welder or brazer obtains verification of continuity from the employer it is the responsibility of the welder and/or brazer to submit verification of their continuity to maintain current welder/brazer certifications.

NOTE: If you are not employed and must perform manual continuity to keep your certification(s) current, manual continuity must be performed and accepted prior to the date your certification(s) expire(s). You can prove continuity at the Training Center on scheduled Fridays & Saturdays. See "Testing & Continuity" to register for scheduled testing dates.
SATURDAY WELDING:
The Training Center holds Saturday Welding sessions on scheduled Saturdays. Saturday Welding sessions are for members to practice for UA weld certifications, Orbital welding and Med Gas Brazing. It is open to all current UA Local 393 apprentices and active journeylevel members in commercial plumbing, steamfitting and HVACR. This is not open lab and space is limited! Please register in advance to reserve your spot. The instructor will NOT ACCEPT WALK INS. Registration will close the Thursday before the event. If you have registered but need to cancel, you must inform the Training Center no later than the Thursday before the event. NOTE: A minimum of (5) people is required to run a Saturday Session. On the morning of, those enrolled must be present at 7:00 AM. If you are late you will not be allowed to participate. If the minimum of (5) people are not present the morning of the session, it will not run.
As always, you must present your UA card and state issued ID to the instructor to use the lab.​
